Hi, i'm an entrepreneur and into business for last two years, however I've spent 6 years in similar activities prior the establishment of the company CAM Associates (www.cam-associates.com)
As a complete technical person who know nothing about business, I have struggled a lot to learn how to streamline the business processes.

Well I'ld like to share something here,

1. First of all be very very clear about your reason of doing the business. (If you don't have a strong reason, mostly ambition, you wont sustain longer in any business.)
2. Have a very good business plan and include every aspect in it like;
what products or services do you want to offer?
what will be your target market?
what kind of infrastructure do you require?
how much capital do you require?
what will be your marketing strategy as well as revenue generation strategy?

(You can use some ready made business plan formats for that.)

3. Depending on the amount of capital, you will need to decide on how to raise it. Ask friends to invest in ur business, or go for Bank Loan, or approach a VC (venture capitalist).
4. Another important aspect is skill set. What kind of skills are required to execute the processes. And be ready for the fact that you and your team will need to enhance the skill sets time to time.
5. Take help of experts. There are organizations which helps the upcoming entrepreneurs in various aspects.
6. Based on ur reasons and above things make a Mission statement and Vision, this will be ur guide, when you will have to make tough decisions in favour of you business.

Well, there are other things too, like registration and other legalities, which comes into picture at a later stage. But few things that every aspiring entrepreneur should remember is most of the people do business to become rich, and the fact is THE RICH NEVER WORKS FOR MONEY, HE MAKES THE MONEY WORK FOR HIM, BECAUSE MONEY IS NOT REAL. Always focus on profits in terms of increment in the income generating assets, THE MORE ASSETS YOU BUILD, THE MORE MONEY YOU MAKE.
